Tips for Increasing Productivity

  1. Plan ahead. Make time on Sunday night to plan out your week. Once the week begins it is often too late. Plan BEFORE the week begins.
  2. Schedule time for yourself. You can not function at high levels if you do not take care of you.
  3. Get accountable. Hire a coach, enlist help from a friend or join a mastermind group.
  4. Single task. Focus on one thing at a time.
  5. Limit social media. Decide how many minutes you will spend each day and then set a timer to hold yourself accountable.
  6. Check emails less often. Set certain times during the day to check email. Checking every 5 minutes can eat up hours of a day.
  7. Organize your space. Take time to organize your space – both at home and at the office. Throw out clutter, create easy to use systems and simplify.
  8. Answer the phone. Just answering the phone when it rings, instead of looking at it and then listening to the message, can save you a great deal of time.
  9. Make calls. Make a point to call instead of emailing or texting. Phone calls are quicker and require less thought than texts or emails. You also avoid confusion and misunderstandings.
  10. Delegate. Let go of the tasks that you can. We do not have to do it all. Delegating gives others a chance to shine and allows us to focus on our areas of strength.
