Now is the Time to Write Your Bucket List…
Do you have a bucket list? If not, NOW is the perfect time. Creating a bucket list is a great way to turn your unfocused dreams, desires and goals into a manageable to-do list. A bucket list allows you to acknowledge your life dreams and begin committing to them as you write them down. There’s something so powerful about writing down our life goals – it gets them out of our head and into the real world.
Why should you have a bucket list?
A bucket list is a road map for your life. It helps you to purposefully decide where you are going and what you want to do with your life. Just remember it’s not a one time deal – it’s a work in progress. I began my bucket list in 1993 and have updated it every year since. Every year on or before New Years Eve I review my list – cross off any items I’ve completed, cross off ones I no longer want to do and write down any new items.
A bucket list helps you get things DONE. I’ve been able to cross many things off my list over the years. I’ve gone scuba diving, traveled to Europe, lost a significant amount of weight and have grown close to my mom over the years.
A bucket helps keep you on track with longer term goals. I’m currently in progress with some of the long term goals on my list. I’ve been working on my MBA for three years (I’ll be done in December) I moved to Maine and I am building great memories with my granddaughter.
A bucket list will challenge you to go deeper. I still have many things on my bucket list. There are so many things I still want to do on this earth. I want to sky dive, live in Europe for a year, renew my vows and write a bestseller. I want to be an involved grandmother, watch my kids graduate from college and make a difference in the lives of others. I want to LIVE my life to the fullest and continue to challenge myself til my last breath. A bucket list helps me do all these things and more.
