Have You Thanked Your Customers Lately?

2014 was a really good year. I had the opportunity to work with amazing people, grow my craft and be mentored by some fabulous people. I am BLESSED.  Thank you for being part of my success, my ups, my downs and my life. I appreciate each and every one of you. YOU ARE THE BEST! 

I love to applaud people, to let them know how much they mean to me. It feels good. And yet why don’t  I do it as often as I should or even as often as I want to. The reality is I get to busy – I take on too much and my good intentions get forgotten.

customer-loveIt’s easy to get caught up in day to day life. We have good intentions, we want to be a positive force in the lives of others, we want to thank people for their business and for what they bring to our life but stuff gets in the way. All too often we end up putting out fires, dealing with the urgent instead of the things we want to do.

One thing I know to be true is that wanting to do something and doing it are not the same thing. And when it comes to be thankful I must be purposeful. I have to set aside time for it, put it in my calendar. Because if I don’t create space for it, others things will get in the way.

Some of the other things I do to appreciate the people in my life are below.

Tips for Appreciating Your Customers: 

  • Send them a hand written note just because. I love getting hand written notes and I think others do too!
  • Hold a FREE event to teach your customers something new. If you have expertise in something, share that with your customers. People love to learn and GROW.
  • Randomly choose one customer to CELEBRATE each month. Do something over the top to show them how much you care.
  • Get to know them. Be genuinely interested in their lives and spend  some time getting to know them.
  • Give away FREE stuff. You don’t have to spend big money to give away things customers will value.
  • SMILE and APPLAUD. Both of these are easy, free, low-hanging fruit. Put your smile on every day and then actively look for ways to APPLAUD your customers. Look for things they do well and things you like about them – then TELL them. People love to receive recognition and applause.
  • Give them a shout out on social media.
